Review: Alternate storm shields by thePaintingBunker

Alternate storm shields by thePaintingBunker:

Ive never tried this reviewing thing before, but I decided it was kind of selfish not to since I buy so many dam minis!
A fellow blogger, & mini painter/builder extraordinaire, that I have been following for some time (who honestly makes my work look like a kings cross footpath at 4am), John from http://thepaintingbunker.com, recently launched a new product.. 'proper' storm shields!
Id been looking for something like this for a long time to polish off a little project id been sitting on, so
with much excitement, I ordered a set within hours of them being announced..

Post xmas hobby fix

I've been soo busy lately I haven't had so much as a chance to pick up a brush!

So, in the after xmas break, I randomly grabbed a model from my to-do pile & painted the shiz outa it!

Turns out it was ole fatty, who has been patiently waiting for a looooong time.. Pretty happy with how he looks too.
Might even be my first entry for GD next year!

Now to just make him a base..

Leviathan Crusader WIP

When I saw these, I knew my Iron Warriors needed one!

I missed the first release, but was lucky enough to score one from the second & final release!

Its been a really fun return to good old fashioned modelling for me.. it wasnt perfect out of the bag. I had to work to make things fit.. my room is covered with a fine layer of resin dust & all my other projects got shunted to the back of the table (even though im meant to be finishing off my Nurgle army for event horizon!).
All those things have given me a real sense of satisfaction while building this fantastic piece of kit!

Its almost finished the build stage now.. its magnetized for transport & to make it pose-able.
Just need to do a bit of greenstuff work to plug the odd gap.. then its time to chaos-ify it!

My first tournament!

So the last few posts were the stuff ive previously painted & posted..

I am currently getting ready for my first tournament at the end of the month; which means finally finishing an army for my Iron Lords!
There isnt a huge amount thats need to be done.. but its still intimidating. Especially when you considder that ive never completely painted an army before!

Ive roughly picked out my 1,500point force (I still plan to get a few trial games in before submit my list) from my collection of about 4,000 points or so..

Im planning on taking:

Chaos lord with mark of Slaanesh, demon weapon & demon steed.
Chaos lord with mark of Slaanesh, jump pack & lightning claws.

10 Chaos warriors with mark of Slaanesh, 2 meltaguns, a rhino with dozer blade & a champion with a power weapon.
5 Noise marines with 4 sonic blasters, a champion with a doom siren & a power weapon.
5 Noise marines with 4 sonic blasters, a champion with a doom siren & a power weapon.

5 Raptors with mark of Slaanesh, a meltagun & a champion with lightning claws.

2 vindicators with demonic posession.
1 Defiler with 2 additional clsoe combat weapons.

Just under half of that is fully painted, a quater is partly painted, the rest are under-coated.. & none of it is properly based.
My partner helped my get all the resin bases made over the weekend & ive almost finished painting them.. next are the troops.

Ill take some pics of the wip tonight.
