WIP: BFG imperial fleet

I recently found my old BFG fleet that had been languishing under my mums house for eons.. figured, since im between jobs for 2 weeks, I ought to do something constructive.

This is basically a rescue job. At this stage, ive stripped the crappy mismatched paint job from them,  broken them all back down to the original parts, chipped off the caked on glue, replaced any missing parts with bits I cast myself or scratch built, rebuilt them & based all the metal models using metal rods (because fuck those stupid plastic sticks!). 

This whole fleet will be for sale once ive finished painting it!

There is also a decent space marine element to this fleet.

Since these pics were snapped, ive almost finished painting the whole fleet!

The SM are Imperial fists & the imperial ships are an attached navy fleet who have been given the honour of being able to bear the Imperial fist\ colours.

Its been awhile since my last post.. since then, ive moved house, started a new job & finished my true scale space wolves!

The reason ive not posted for so long is that ive been working out my hobby space again after moving..
But its finally useable now!

Theres still a bit left to sort out though!

Anyway, I have plenty more pics of these guys that ill share over the next few posts, including some close ups of the finished shields from ThePaintingBunker!

All quiet on the eastern front..

So ive been pretty quiet lately.. not because ive not been painting, but because ive been painting too much!
(& not working which was the place where I normally found time to blog!)

I also went & got my first tattoo (see above)..

Anyway, I figured I should post a few pics up of what ive been doing..

I threw these bunch together for Cryx cup last weekend.. where I earnt the nice guy award for running CSM without any helldrakes.
A mix of repair, repaint & new models.. smashed them out in 3 days!

Ive order a pile of bases from secret weapon for a project that will happen a bit later in the year.. but since I know thier stuff is great, I figured I ought to do a little review for those who arent so sure!

Lastly, Im working on a little side project ive been keeping in the wings until yesterday.. my true scale space wolves!
I found the last part I needed yesterday & its now in the mail!
Expect these guys to be happening soon!

First mini of '13

So I randomly got excited & painted up this chappy:

I think '13 will be a good year for hobby.
I have bought almost all the models I plan on needing for the next year (or maybe more!), including two new full sized armies, two small allied detachments, some exciting display pieces & the largest Golden Demon project ive ever started.. stay tuned!

I was reading a review of the wargames factory shock troops kit over on Standard Template Construct & figured I should post up what I did with the models..

Nothing fancy; I just kitbashed the shock trooper body, cadian arms & a pig iron gasmask head.

Cost a little bit more than just sticking to the wargames factory kit, but looks a lot better in my opinion!

Post xmas hobby fix

I've been soo busy lately I haven't had so much as a chance to pick up a brush!

So, in the after xmas break, I randomly grabbed a model from my to-do pile & painted the shiz outa it!

Turns out it was ole fatty, who has been patiently waiting for a looooong time.. Pretty happy with how he looks too.
Might even be my first entry for GD next year!

Now to just make him a base..
